As Thanksgiving approaches with family and friends who come together, I remember one of the traditions we would do around the table. We would ask each other "what are you thankful for this year" and each of us would share a time we were thankful about something that happened this year. For the last several years we have forgotten to do this, and I think this year we need to step up to the plate and revisit what we are thankful for this year.
Even though this may not be your family's tradition, you likely have your own way to celebrate with your friends and family. Whatever you do, take the time to be thankful for the moments you cherish in your life this year. Remember to be thankful for the times God has forgiven you because of His love for you. Through Jesus, He paid the price for our sins so we would understand that forgiveness is nothing we should take lightly.
Overall, we cannot thank God enough for forgiveness, and through this He has given us grace to forgive others with His same forgiveness.
"For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15, ESV)
What if gratitude for God's forgiveness unlocks your ability to forgive others?
