I missed the chance to send you a newsletter last week. Have any of you caught a cold this season that just lingers or comes back? Well, my cold was one of those that did not want to go away. I still have a slight cough, but let me say to all of you: please take care of yourself, stay warm, and drink plenty of liquids.

On another note, lately I have heard so many reports of families who have grown distant from one another. It breaks my heart because while we all may have different opinions, what happened to the understanding that it is okay to disagree? We may not always agree, but where is the love we have for one another?

Someone said to me recently, "There is so much unforgiveness in families today." We cannot always fix the people around us, but we can choose to love and forgive the person nearest to us. God gives us grace, love, and forgiveness freely, so why can we not extend the same to others, especially to the people closest to us?

Here is my encouragement: maybe start with a simple conversation to truly understand this person closest to you, so you can find it in your heart to forgive them.

Reflect on this truth: "And to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:19, ESV)

What if the person you need to forgive most is the one sitting closest to you right now?
