We can be deeply hurt by a friend, a loved one, a family member, and more. Can we overlook it? Sometimes we think we need to address that hurt. But other times we cannot address it and try to let it go by distancing ourselves from that person.

There is another way: go to God with prayer and pour your heart out for wisdom to forgive. Ask God to search your hurting heart. Were you overly sensitive? Is this their first offense toward you?

"Search me, O God, and know my heart!" (Psalm 139:23)

Pray for discernment in your life to understand what is true in this situation. If you believe you need to address the hurt caused by another, pray for the ability to be honest and show them grace. Remember to love them in this difficult moment.

God's Word shows us a better way: "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight." (Romans 12:14-16)

What if your deepest hurt could become your greatest opportunity to reflect God's heart?
