Each week I touch on forgiveness, but what about the friends and family who touch your heart the most? They are there when you call for support. They offer a kind voice at the moment you need it most. They spend time with you even when they are busy because they know you need them.

Sometimes we go through difficult times and do not want to burden those close to our hearts. We pray about our struggles but do not hear clearly from God about what to do. Yet for some reason, we feel led to reach out to that friend or family member we trust deeply.

Think about this: who led you to that person? Through all your difficult moments, you make it through because God led you to that person for comfort through your prayers. Ultimately, it was God who brought this person close to you, and it is through Him they were able to comfort you in your time of need.

Recently, I saw something written in the dust on the back of a large truck. The words read: "God loves you." As I thought about those words, I wondered who wrote them. Then I realized something important: He is the one who forgives us completely, and through that truth, we can learn to forgive others just as He forgives us.

Today, reach out to that person who has been there for you. Tell them thank you. Send them love for their presence in your life, as God has placed them there for a reason.

"Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." (1 John 4:11, ESV)
