Hello Yvette:

Technology crashes. Phone lines fail. Customer service frustrates you. In moments like these, faith feels impossible. But what if these trials are exactly when faith matters most?

One of my favorite verses is "for we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7, ESV). But read what follows: "Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him" (2 Corinthians 5:8-9, ESV).

This week tested my faith severely. My husband could not send or receive business emails. That took most of the day to fix. Then my business email system failed, as some of you know. When you face these technical problems, you must call for help. The challenge is that the help you need is often located overseas or in another time zone. You become frustrated, angry, and anxious because solutions do not happen fast enough.

Then my husband's phone stopped receiving calls. My husband went to AT&T to resolve the issue. He called me from the store to discover they could not help unless I was present because his name was not on the account, but he has been on the account for years. I started to fuss at the woman over the phone. She could not accept my permission or my driver's license through the phone.

He left the store. Then I realized something important. I called him back and told him to pull over and pray. He said he already had.

Later at home, we discovered the email problem and fixed it before the day ended. That night, I asked God to forgive me for how I spoke to the lady at the AT&T store. Rules at their jobs must be followed, probably for our own security.

With all this and more this week, our faith in the Lord carries us through what you can call attacks, trials, and tribulations. It brings you full circle.

I hope your week went well, but know that God is always there during hard times.

What would change if you walked by faith instead of frustration when everything goes wrong?
